Town Meeting

May 5 Whitman Town Meeting voted to proceed with the override, with the ultimate decision being made at the ballot box May 17. Other notable items decided include: amending the bylaws to meet the state law around Accessory Dwelling Units, funding the town’s capital plan, and approving a second ballot question to make the elected Treasurer/Collector an appointed Treasurer/Collector.

Lieutenant Brian Trefry saves woman from burning vehicle

While driving on Rt 24, off duty, Trefry spotted a rollover accident and pulled a woman from a burning vehicle. He says he was just in the right place at the right time.
