The work doesn’t stop!

What a crazy first term. In just 3 years I served as the Police Liaison when appointing a new Police Chief, the Fire Liaison when appointing a new Fire Chief, and a member of the Board when selecting a new Town Administrator. I was the Board’s rep on the Regional Agreement Amendment Committee making the first changes to the Regional School Agreement since 1993. I was a Selectmen rep on the Budget Override Evaluation Committee. Not to mention navigating through a global pandemic and keeping the public informed.

I can celebrate successfully joining the Community Preservation Agreement, an issue I campaigned on. Whitman became a Purple Heart Community, and we voted to codify and publish our bylaws online. We’ve adopted online permitting and updated the town’s website. We became an MVP community and received over $500,000 in state grants to update our streets and sidewalks around Essex St and the Center. All work geared toward building for the future.

The work continued in my second term! I became the Town’s go to representative for energy and land use questions as we faced MBTA Communities requirements, the sale of Peaceful Meadows, and began the process of Municipal Energy Aggregation (another thing I campaigned on in 2019). We authorized a new DPW building, and celebrated Pride for the first time in Town.

Other Roles in Whitman

Finance Committee member 2017 - 2019: their goal is to make recommendations to Town Meeting regarding the spending of Taxpayer’s dollars.

Additionally, I was a member of the Whitman Think Tank and a Finance Committee representative on the Selectmen’s Budget Policy Working Group. As a Selectman I served on the Budget Override Evaluation Committee, the Capital Committee, the Middle School Building Committee and the twice on the school’s Regional Agreement Amendment Committee. I’m also the Town’s appointee on the Central Plymouth County Water District Commission Advisory Board, serving as that Board’s Vice Chair.
